With the race, we will be raising money for a playground in the new Parque Cancun for all children to enjoy, including those with physical challenges. The goal is to raise $500,000 pesos. In previous years, the Royal Resorts Foundation Race helped build a house for a child with brittle bone syndrome, renovated a home for a family with mobility challenges, installed a kitchen at a community center for vulnerable teenagers and provided college scholarships for low-income students.<\/p>\n<p><b>Join us in 2023 and help change lives<\/b><\/p>\n<p>There will be a 5 and 10-kilometer race, a 3-kilometer walk and a Fun Run for the children too.<\/p>\n<p>Race details<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b> <\/b>The race for adults takes place at 7:20 a.m. on February 12, 2023. The race route will be along Kukulc\u00e1n Boulevard, the start and finish line is in Captain\u2019s Cove car park.<\/li>\n<li>5 or 10 kilometers<\/li>\n<li>3-kilometer walk<\/li>\n<li>Age categories for men and women<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Free (13-39 years) Master (40-49 years) Veteran (50 and over)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Race fee: Adults $300 pesos, Children $250 pesos<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Includes: competitor number, souvenir t-shirt, chip for 5 and 10 km competitors, finalist medal, water, isotonic drink when crossing the finish line<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prizes will be given to the first three places in each category in the 5 and 10 km races for men and women. The first three Royal Resorts employees to cross the finish in the 5 and 10 km races for men and women will also receive prizes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Children\u2019s Fun Run<\/p>\n<p>Bring the kids! Race packets will not be handed out after this time or on the race day.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n<p>About Parque Cancun<\/p>\n<p>A new community space for Cancun residents and visitors, Parque Cancun is taking shape on the original landfill site for the city of Cancun. The land has been reclaimed and reforested, transforming it into a green space with walkways, play areas, quiet corners for yoga and meditation and even chess classes, an amphitheater for concerts, palapas for environmental awareness talks, a timeline of the history of the world, a sundial and much more. In future stages of the Parque Cancun project, a biodiversity museum, nature trails and other attractions are planned.<\/p>\n<p>Located behind the schools and universities on Bonampak Avenue in Downtown Cancun, it lies next to the mangrove forest on the shores of Nichupte Lagoon, which is a protected area, and it is a haven for wildlife, such as parrots, Yucatan jays, pygmy owls, coatimundi, opossum, raccoon and grey fox, among others.<\/p>\n<p>From the outset, Royal Resorts has been involved in the development of the park, sending gardeners to help in the landscaping.
