Change in the Royal Uno opening date
We have some important information to share about Royal Uno® All Inclusive Resort & Spa, our latest resort. Due to the continued impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on supply chains, we have been forced to push back our 2022 opening date.
As you know, the pandemic has seriously disrupted global supply chains causing delays and shortages at every level. Factory production and the shipping industry have been slow to recover, containers are stranded on the high seas or in ports. Orders that normally take days or weeks to fulfil are taking months.
Across the board, from the construction sector to furnishings, kitchen and restaurant fixtures and technology, our suppliers are still reporting delivery delays, and this continues to affect our timeline and all aspects of the operation.
According to our assessment, we are on target to complete the resort and all guest amenities – including the full complement of restaurants and bars and Alea® Spa in the summer of 2022.
This has been a time of unprecedented challenges and as we work towards our new opening date, we want you to know that we are dedicated to delivering a guest experience full of exceptional moments, from dining and entertainment to daytime activities for all ages and blissful spa time. A taste of authentic Cancun, the height of relaxation, gourmet cuisine and hallmark hospitality, it will be worth the wait.
Spearheaded by Efraín Canto, the general manager, the Royal Uno team is taking shape. Key members have been hired including the housekeeping manager, food and beverages manager and the executive chef, all are involved in planning every detail of the guest experience and in hiring and training their own teams.
For members and guests who had already made arrangements to stay at Royal Uno, we offer a sincere apology for the disruption to their travel plans. We will be contacting them with options.
We look forward to the opening of Royal Uno in 2022, and to welcoming our first guests.
