Pablo Chuc returns to The Royal Sands as Food & Beverage Manager

A longtime member of the Royal Resorts family, Pablo Chuc is a familiar face for many members. We are happy to report that he returns to The Royal Sands as Food & Beverage Manager after almost five years at The Royal Haciendas in the same position.

Originally from the village of Sucila in the neighboring state of Yucatan, Pablo moved to Cancun in 1991 and joined Royal Resorts in 1993. His first position was bartender at The Royal Mayan and he soon worked his way up the ranks in Food and Beverages as a waiter at Cayo Largo restaurant in The Royal Islander, staff trainer, head waiter at Tradewinds restaurant in The Royal Caribbean and then in 2002 as Restaurant Manager at Cayo Largo. After four years at The Royal Islander he was promoted to the post of Food & Beverage Manager at The Royal Sands in 2006.

In 2019, Pablo transferred to The Royal Haciendas as Food & Beverage Manager with responsibility for its signature restaurants Los Murales and Kinoko, La Palapa del Sol, Sol and Luna Grill, Pizza Luna and La Rotonda.

On his return to The Royal Sands, Pablo will be managing Club Bistro, La Veranda, La Veranda del Mar, Char Hut, Sand Dollar and Sidelines Sports Bar and working closely with Royal Resorts Executive Chef Juan Carlos Orozco, Executive Sous-Chef Deyanira Gonzalez, The Royal Sands Executive Sous-Chef Eduardo Castellanos and other members of the Food and Beverage managerial team. His leadership, professionalism, attention to detail and customer service will be key in enriching dining experiences at The Royal Sands, and developing new ones.

Israel Juárez joins Royal Resorts as the new Food & Beverage Manager at The Royal Haciendas. He has a long career in restaurant management and will use his experience and knowledge to create new dining moments for our members and guests.

Mexican Night at The Royal Haciendas

Members and guests staying at The Royal Haciendas this summer will want to enjoy their dining with lashings of Mexican flavor and color. Monday night is Mexican night and it is celebrated with great gusto. Tuck into a traditional buffet full of mouthwatering Mexican dishes at La Palapa del Sol, enjoy live Mexican music with Voces de la Tierra and then make your way to the stage in Phase 2 for a colorful folk dance show at 8 p.m. After the show, the pace picks up as there’s more live music with a tropical tempo in La Rotonda Bar.

New Prehispanic Dinner Show at Gran Salon Hacienda Sisal

Mayan dances, dramatic live music and a delicious selection of traditional dishes from the Yucatecan kitchen, don’t miss the new Prehispanic Show on Mondays at Gran Salon Hacienda Sisal. The doors open at 5 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m., followed by karaoke until 11 p.m. Reservations are required.

Mexican wine tasting at Grand Residences

If you are a wine lover and are staying at Grand Residences, make your reservation for the Mexican Wine Tasting on Tuesdays. During a fascinating evening with Sommelier Laura Sanchez, you’ll learn all about the world of Mexican wine, past and present, the country’s wine regions and distinctive terroirs and sample a selection of vibrant wines. Whether you like crisp citrus flavors paired with gin or tequila, classic Caribbean rum, pineapple and coconut, mezcalitas or spritzers with fruits of the resort or smooth creamy concoctions with whisky or brandy, check the mixology menus at Hacienda Sisal, Club Bistro, Veranda del Mar, Sidelines, La Trattoria and Kinoko.

The Grand Residences Lobby Bar has a sophisticated new martini menu and resort guests won’t want to miss Jazz and Martini Night on Tuesdays.

Culinary Experiences by Royal Resorts

Wherever you dine this summer, be sure to ask your waiter about the daily breakfast and lunch specials, seasonal menus and chef’s dishes for dinner that form part of the Culinary Experiences by Royal Resorts monthly program. All the Royal Resorts restaurants and bars participate in this event, offering more delicious dishes, sweet treats and cool cocktails in addition to the a la carte menus.

Distintivo H certification for The Royal Haciendas in food hygiene

The Royal Haciendas scored 99.2 in the annual Distintivo H inspections and certification for kitchen hygiene, restaurant storage and food preparation standards.

The restaurant teams at Grand Residences by Royal Resorts, The Royal Sands and The Royal Cancun are also working for their Distintivo H certification.

Earlier this year The Royal Cancun also obtained the CRISTAL – FOOD certification.

Distintivo H certification is awarded by the Mexican Tourism Board and the Ministry of Health to restaurants and bars that operate to the highest standards of kitchen hygiene, food storage and preparation.
