Royal Dining News

During your next visit to Royal Resorts, you may want to plan an evening at three of our signature restaurants: Captain’s Cove, El Conquistador and Los Murales at The Royal Haciendas and try some of the tempting dishes on their new menus. Seafood, steaks, pasta and vegetables are paired with herbs and spices with delicious results. Some dishes are cooked to traditional recipes and others are the chef’s inspiration.
If you are staying at The Royal Haciendas, you’ll also want to book your table at Kinoko for Asian cuisine. The menu showcases dishes from Japan, China, Korea and Thailand and there’s fresh sushi. You can also book your table for the Teppanyaki and Shabu shabu experiences.
Finally, only served during August and September, don’t miss the chiles en nogada in Hacienda Sisal. This traditional dish is a must in Mexican Independence celebrations. Poblano chiles with a savory-sweet filling of minced beef, pork, chopped dried and fresh fruit, spices, garlic and onion are served in a creamy white walnut sauce garnished with pomegranate seeds, chopped coriander and parsley. The colors of the dish symbolize the colors of the Mexican flag: red, white and green.

2020 Turtle News: First Babies of the Season

We have great turtle news for you. The first baby turtles of the season have been born at The Royal Sands, The Royal Islander and the beach in front of Royal Uno and have been released to begin their new life at sea.
In the past few days, 7,978 eggs from nests in the turtle nurseries at the three resorts have hatched, including several loggerhead and hawksbill turtle nests. The Royal Resorts turtle guardians, our security staff, are monitoring the nests round the clock, on the look out for the telltale movements in the sand as the hatchlings emerge from the eggs.
It appears that the sea turtles are venturing up on to Cancun’s beaches in greater numbers this season, perhaps due to fewer boats during the day and fewer lights, sounds and people on the shoreline after dark. At Royal Resorts we are protecting 492 nests with 58,335 precious eggs (August 6), with many more weeks to go in the 2020 season.

Welcome home! The Royal Sands, The Royal Islander, The Royal Haciendas and The Royal Cancun are open again

We are open and thrilled to see our Royal Resorts family again. On June 13 and June 20, staff gave a warm and very Mexican welcome home to members and guests arriving during the day at The Royal Sands, The Royal Islander, The Royal Haciendas and The Royal Cancun.

The Royal Sands, The Royal Islander and The Royal Haciendas, June 13
Wearing traditional dress, the Social Activities team were on hand at all three resorts to greet each arriving van with rattles, streamers, Mexican music and dance. Management representatives and employees from the Front Desk, Concierge, Housekeeping, Security, Food & Beverages, the Spa, Media and other departments also joined in the applause as members and guests alighted from their vans and cars and waited as bellboys sprayed their luggage before escorting them into the lobby for a welcome drink and check-in. At 3 p.m. at The Royal Sands and The Royal Islander, the Social Activities team thanked everyone for coming at a welcome cocktail on the pool deck where not even a heavy shower could dampen the happiness of members, guests or their hosts.

At The Royal Haciendas in the Riviera Maya, staff also welcomed members and guests with our hallmark hospitality, joy and touches of Mexican tradition. Many were wearing sombreros and traditional dress and all greeted guests with the customary Yucatan gesture of the hand placed over the heart. There was music, streamers and clapping and in the lobby several of the housekeepers performed the traditional jarana dance from the Yucatan.
Members and guests received welcome cocktails and cookies with Mexican icing in the lobby and were invited to a flower arch to have their photo taken with staff. The celebrations continued into the evening with the Mexican Fiesta and a mariachi serenade.

June 20 at The Royal Cancun
On June 20, led by the Activities team, Management representatives and bellboys Jeremías and Reynaldo, a group of employees from different departments at The Royal Cancun welcomed members and guests with deafening applause, cheers, background mariachi music and dance.

“We are so happy to be back,” “We have been counting the days,” “We have been looking forward to this so much, it’s great to be here,” are some of the words we heard from arriving members on both days. Some were overjoyed to see Royal Resorts friends again and all were looking forward to their vacation and their first dip in the Caribbean.

Staff welcomed arriving members and guests wearing their masks, respecting social distancing rules and all other hygiene protocols now in place as part of the new Royal Care Standard health and safety program to make home away from home cleaner and safer than ever for you and your family.

We look forward to welcoming owners, members and guests to Grand Residences on July 4.
